About the project.

Girls in Tourism Foundation is a purpose-driven organization committed to transforming the lives of African women aged 18–28 by providing mentorship, industry training, and career development in tourism. They needed a user-focused interface to clearly present programs, connect mentees and mentors, and make resources easily discoverable.

Our Solution
We crafted a standards-driven UI/UX design for Girls in Tourism, grounded in best practices and their brand palette:

User-Centered Research & Wireframes: Conducted persona workshops and mapped user journeys to inform low-fi wireframes, ensuring each screen solves a real user need.
Consistent Visual System: Translated their logo and color scheme into a cohesive design system with clear typography, button styles, and form elements, guaranteeing visual harmony across pages.
Responsive & Accessible Layouts: Built modular, mobile-first layouts that adapt smoothly to all devices and meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards (contrast ratios, keyboard navigation).
Intuitive Navigation & CTAs: Employed familiar menu patterns and prominent call-to-action buttons to guide mentees to apply, mentors to sign up, and visitors to explore resources in two clicks or fewer.
Interactive Prototypes & Iteration: Delivered clickable prototypes in Figma for stakeholder review, iterating based on feedback to refine flows before handoff to development.

This functional, user-focused UI/UX empowers Girls in Tourism to deliver clear, accessible pathways to mentorship, training, and career resources, driving engagement and impact.
